2015Another year is in the books. 2014 was a year of mixed reviews. I know it is a year I will not soon forget.  Losing both parents in the same year marks it as a year to remember.  I am looking forward to 2015, it is another year to live under the grace, forgiveness, and power of Christ in my life.  What lies ahead for you?

In December I had the opportunity to share the Gospel several times.  Two of those times were memorial services.  One for my brother in-law – Ron Wait, and the second was for my mom – Elaine (Wagner) McCorut.  In both messages I shared an account from scripture where Jesus was late to a funeral and burial of a friend.

Lazarus, good friend of Jesus and brother to Mary and Martha, was ill.  Jesus heard the news of Lazarus illness …and waited.  He did not rush off to see the family.  By time he arrived, Lazarus had died. Jesus missed the burial and didn’t show up until four days later. Upon his arrival he was met by Martha.

“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
John 11:21 (NIV)

Martha believed this statement to be true.  Have you ever wondered “where is the Lord is in this situation?  If only he had been here!”  I know there are times this thought enter my mind.  But by the grace of God I am so often reminded that He Is Here! God is with Us.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

Though all of 2014 Jesus through his Living Holy Spirit was with me, on the good days and the hard days.  This confidence gives me hope for the days ahead.  All of the unknown that lies before me is know to God.  He remains my companion into 2015 helping to make it a great year.  He also resides in me making me a new me.  Each day his spirit challenges me to become more and more Christ like in all I do.  I hope I get share a story with you in 2015, to tell you what an amazing God I serve.  I hope I have the chance to share the Gospel with many people, to use the gifts he has richly blessed me with.

I’m excited for the new year.  I hope you are too!   Just one more reason while I like JJ Heller and her music, here is a song she wrote just days ago for this new year!  Enjoy!

Do you know a way I can share a story with you or our group this coming year?  I would love to hear from you.
