We so often talk about “Trusting in God’s plan.”  For many months now My wife and I have been deep in conversation and prayer, along with many others as we follow and TRUST in God’s leading.  But I have to admit, the trusting part is not as easy as it once was.

I know that God is gracious, Sovereign, and desires the best for us.  When financial resources behind your Trust (i.e. savings) begin to run dry, but those good ol’ bills just keep coming, trust takes on a whole new dimension.  It become more necessary to stop trying to “solve” life.  Trust becomes not a part-time idea, but a full-time obsession.

So let’s go through a trust/blessing checklist:

  • Health … check
  • Married to my best friend… check
  • Job… check
  • Home… check
  • AC working… check
  • Boys doing well… check
  • Friends… Check
  • Getting to share the Gospel… check
  • Sovereign Lord of All still in charge… check
  • Saved by Grace… Check
  • more blessings that i can count… check

So maybe trust is harder these days… or maybe its just more genuine.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
