Well, my tree is up, the lights are on it and the ornaments are in place. Do you know what that means? It means that Christ did not return, but I’m ready! I pray that I am one of the watchmen that Isaiah spoke about – one who see’s the Lord’s return to Zion with his own eyes. I was not there for his first coming, so I pray I am still alive in the body for his second coming. Notice I said “in the body” for I know that I will be alive for his return one way or another.
24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24
So I’m looking for full joy, eyes on the sky Jesus return, BUT until then I will celebrate each day as I wait, making preparations to remember and celebrate his first coming. There is an upside to waiting a few more days, I get a chance to enjoy a few more of those famous McCourt Mint Bars that are in the freezer, which is only made at Christmas!
