There are many expression I have heard over the years, and a few I have even come up with, stick with me.  They are those phrases that I come back to time and time again in various talks.  One of my all time favorites is from one of my professors in college:

Has it ever occurred to you that nothing has ever occurred to God?

The sovereign king of creation is never going to hear anything from your lips, no confession or rage that is going to shock him from his throne.  He already knows.

For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Psalm 96:5

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13

Our all know King is also ready  to help you though whatever “secret” you need to bring to him. The Palms record for us the lament and even the anger of God’s people.  We see in their pages the questions that just need a voice.

How long will the wicked, O Lord, how long will the wicked be jubilant? Psalm 94:3

Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? Psalm 10:1

I together with the psalmist are able ask the questions and pour out our secrets because we know who is listening.  We Cry out to a God who is near to our brokenness  our fear, and our questions.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

But there is more to knowing that “nothing has never occurred to God.”  It reminds me that he also sees and is able to guide and direct my days.  He sees the dangers all around and so often intervenes before I even am aware of the problem.  What a joy to have the Creator of Heaven and earth watching and aware of my presence.

“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:4-7

So what have you been holding back from telling Jesus?  Since he already knows let it go and let him move you through it! Relax in his sovereign care.
