For several days now I have boarded the morning bus to downtown Minneapolis to join about 100 other in the Jury Pool Room.  Here we sit and wait for a judge to have need for a Jury.  I have lots of time to Ponder.  It has made me thankful to be an American where our Judicial system, all be it far from perfect, allows for you to get a judgement made by a jury of your peers.

It also makes me thankful that God does not work with a Jury.  The evidence reported at my case will be overwhelming there will be little room for the Jury to return any verdict but Guilty.  I am thankful that my case has already be heard and the judge has declared a verdict.  For the sake of Jesus Christ I am declared Not Guilty, in fact more then that I am declared righteous.  This is amazing Grace.

While I sit I also listen to all the people who grumble and complain about having to be here.  I know if I needed a jury, I would want a pool of people waiting to serve.  This is one of those Golden Rule opportunities.

Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. Luke 6:30-32

These lessons while so basic to who we are, need to rise to the surface from time to time, or at least I am prone to forget them.  Being downtown as also given me a chance to “give to anyone who asks.” which I’ll tel you more about later.  For now I have to go, my name and been called and it is time to go from the pool to the jury box.  God grant me your wisdom…
