Right off the bat let me confess the title is not original. I found this saying some years ago on a drink coaster. It was in a collection of humorous sayings, and I did find it humorous enough to buy it. After looking at it for many months, it was on my desk in the office, I discovered that behind the humor was a deeply profound theological truth.
In my relationship with my Heavenly Father I am his favorite. Being a perfect Father he loves all his children the same, we are all his favorite. While it might seem a bit trite, especially in the fact that our American culture has told us we are all special – which translated means none of us are special. To view yourself as one of God’s favorite to me changes my relationship with Him. It softens for me any fear I have to approach Him with anything. It boosts my self-esteem (my Christ-esteem). and it also emboldens me to share the amazing truth with others “God Loves you, but I’m his favorite” and after a brief pause to also add “but don’t worry – you’re His favorite too.”
Need some proof that you are His favorite:
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. Jeremiah 31:3
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
To know that God knows the very number of the hairs on my head (which is getting lower by the day) speaks to me of his intimate knowledge of me. For me the best proof of his love for me is found in Jesus explanation to Nicodemus the reality of the Kingdom of God and the our rebirth in the Spirit.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
Go ahead and pass it on “God Love You… But I’m His Favorite…And So Are You!”

Good one!
