Having been a member of a church staff for many years I have found myself in more than a few hospitals.  My first stop is the information desk to find out what room my member is in.  Once I get this information I know what the next question is going to be. “Do you know how to get there?” Followed by a detailed instruction that often make my head spin. “head down this hallway and turn left at the 3rd corridor the go through the heart center take a right to the west elevators, take them to the 4th-floor turn right and go to…..” at this point, I am totally lost and praying for one thing: GOOD SIGNS

Some hospitals have good signage, some not so much.  I recently visited a hospital that I finally gave up getting back to my car by staying in the building.  I found an exit and walked for several blocks outside until I found my parking ramp.

God’s people have always been looking for a sign of the promise, and God has been faithful to give signs.  In Isaiah, we meet a King who is unwilling to ask God for a sign, even when encouraged by the Prophet. But the Lord gives him one anyway! ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son and will call him Immanuel”  what a sign, what a promise. what a joy that we know the promise-giver, and the promise keeper!

WHAT sign has God given you to remind you that he is the great promise keeper!
